Easter Bunny Fun

The sweetest thing this year was putting Mitch to bed and how excited he was for the Easter Bunny to come.  We watched him on the monitor opening the shutters to look outside to see if the Bunny was out there and on the way to his house!  He was up and out of bed at 5am the next morning coming into our room asking if he could go out yet!  That was a bit to early for the parents, so we were able to hold him off until 7 and let him sleep in our bed (after a little crying, of course).  Mitch loved hunting for eggs and he got to play Easter Bunny later that day with his little cousin, Remi.  It was a fun day for all and a great dinner with Mi'Ma, Poppie and family.

Cool Cousins

Cate and Cam got to spend the day with us on my first day off for maternity leave!  We had a great day and Mitch had a big smile the whole time - he just loves spending time with his Cousins.

ZOO Time!

I love this picture of Mitch looking at the Papago Mountains.... reminds me just how little he is still!  We had a fun day at the Zoo today.  It was supposed to be just Mommy and Mitch, but we ran into the Cornelius family 15 minutes of getting there.  So, we spent the day with them and Mitch could not have been more excited!  I think the thing he and Cameron enjoyed most was the Kettle Corn bag.

Mikayla's Nursery!!

Some have described it as Ceasar's Palace..... others know it by Mikayla's Room!  The room is finally shaping up to be quite the Princess Room complete with 2 tone paint, crown molding, an incredible ceiling painted like the sky at sunset and lots of fun, bright colors.  I hope she loves her room so much and enjoys making many wishes looking at her ceiling from her little bed.  I love the first picture here showing Mitchy helping Daddy putting his sister's crib together.  He will be the best big brother!

The crib is so pretty and feminine and adds so much to the room with the pewter iron.  A good friend, Jen, is letting us borrow the crib as long as she needs it!  What a score.  The furniture was mine when I was little, but is so sturdy and in perfect condition.  It's nice to have so much storage space!  I picked out the fabric to make the window treatment and seat cushion on the toy box.  I loved all the bright colors, which really ties into the beautiful paintings.  You have to like lots of color for this room.

After the walls were painted, Mi'Ma and Poppie helped us with the crown molding for the room.  What a difference this makes.  It did prompt, however, the absolute NEED for the ceiling to be painted like the sky with clouds of all colors (oranges, purples, pink and yellows!).  It HAD to be done.  I found an amazing lady, Diane, who exceeded my expectations and did a great job making this room very special!  The ceiling is so pretty when lit up by the crystal chandelier fan.  There is an abundance of lighting options in this room with the sconce I added in the corner, as well.  I love all the little things in her room and can't wait to show it to her very soon!

Mitch is excited to have his sister right next door to his big boy room!
