Baby Boy's Nursery

Decorating the nursery has been so much fun over the last several months! We started by picking out the furniture and found a set we both loved at Crismon's Baby in Mesa. The crib is convertible, so it can transform into a toddler and adult full bed as Baby Montgomery grows. Mi'ma and Poppy helped out with the crib and oh-so comfy recliner for the room. You'll notice the recliner has a light blue trim that matches the paint perfectly. We liked the dresser with hutch for added storage, which serves as a changing table while he is filling diapers and can easily be removed later to grow with the baby. The wall shelving is from Pottery Barn and adds some depth to the room while creating a great place to show off special toys, books and pictures. Uncle Clint brought the fish art back from Rocky Point and it fits the room theme perfectly. I wanted to do an underwater fish mural behind the crib, so we had Meg the painter come out and work her magic. Mom and Mark painted the blue-green water backdrop, which we decided to bring across two walls and around the closet. We love the mural during the day with the light shining in, but amazingly enough, it really comes alive at night with the vibrant colors! I just know the little man will love the mural when he gets big enough to enjoy it. I hand picked the fabric for the window treatment and crib bedding using rich blues, greens and browns. We got a great deal at Mesa Sales and had Susan, an employee at the fabric store, put everything together for us. She did a fabulous job and we couldn't be more happy with the outcome. To create more storage space in the small closet, we put a set of bookshelves on one side which fit perfectly. Little baby is obtaining quite a wardrobe already with various sizes up to 1 year. What fun to decorate a baby's room.....

The Matacia's got this very special Nambe' baby serveware for the Baby! Isn't it beautiful?
